The Nines
Nine of Wands
Possible keywords: Inner strength. Fortitude. Perseverance.
You’ve done the work, fought your battles, and know what you’re made of — now’s the time to channel this inner strength into this last phase of the “battle.” Starting new creative projects is easy, but finishing them is hard. The Nine of Wands says you’ve come so far and survived so much — the end is in sight if you can push on a little further.
Nine of Cups
Possible keywords: Blessings. Accomplishment. Emotional contentment.
Most books will tell you that the Nine of Cups is the wish card. After bravely moving on in the Eight, the Nine of Cups brings us what we were looking for — happiness, joy, emotional contentment. I’m always pleased to see this card, but I am also aware Too much of a good thing can leave us feeling bloated and sluggish, but it’s important to enjoy ourselves and revel in the pleasures life brings us. This card heralds a happy conclusion and all plans coming to fruition. If you were to ask the tarot a question, this would be a “yes” card.
Nine of Swords
Possible keywords: Nightmares. Anxiety. Future tripping.
If Swords are our thoughts, nine of them are unlikely to be a good thing. After being trapped by our negative thinking in the Eight, it’s only gotten worse in the Nine. The worst-case scenario keeps you up at night, repeating what might happen. And yet, if we can only bring ourselves back to the present moment, we will see that we are safe. We don’t have to succumb to the thoughts that plague us.
Nine of Pentacles
Possible keywords: Independence. Fulfillment. Self-sufficiency.
All our hard work has paid off, and now we reap the rewards. We’ve done the job, and we’ve achieved our goals. We are “self-made” and proud in the best possible way.
