The Knights
Knight of Wands
Keywords: Spontaneous, charming, adventurous, energetic
Meet the thrill-seeker of the Court. With Air feeding his Fire, the Knight of Wands tends to blaze uncontrollably and wakes up with a headache the next day. He’s passionate about life and wants to experience as much of it as possible. His impulsive side sees him pulling daredevil stunts, and his charm and good looks have swayed many a lady in the Court. This confident Knight teaches us to take a risk. We must boldly put ourselves out there and go for what we truly desire. He mirrors our excitement and reminds us to engage our brains when making creative decisions (he wouldn’t). When the Knight of Wands holds the reigns, you know you will have the time of your life. Channel that energy into moving out of your comfort zone, but be aware that this Knight’s energy burns out fast. He’ll help you get a new project out into the world but probably won’t stick around for the launch party.
Knight of Cups
Keywords: Romantic, idealistic, open-hearted, a dreamer
This Knight is on a mission to experience his emotions in watery forms truly. Love is his most excellent motivator, and he chooses to see beauty everywhere he looks. A big-hearted soul, he teaches us to love what we love. To be bold in our search for romantic love but even more than that, to learn how to love ourselves. We must surf the waves of our emotions even when they feel overwhelming. To be our lover, confidante, and friend. To embody the vibration of love when we’re out in the world. The Knight of Cups is brave in love, trusting the rewards make the challenges worth enduring. His big heart knows it might get crushed, but that doesn’t stop him from trying. He gets caught up in romantic fantasies and doesn’t always make the best choices (heart over head) but in his pursuit of real emotion he feels his feelings fast and moves on. He doesn’t give up on love.
Knight of Swords
Keywords: Articulate, erudite, impatient, inventive
This guy is pure Air, chasing after knowledge on his charging steed! He wants to know everything and has a brain big enough to do it. He’s the genius inventor jumping from one brilliant idea to another. He’s quick-witted and will have you on your back foot in seconds. Just as the wind can change direction instantly, keeping up with his mercurial mind can be challenging. The Knight of Swords teaches us to pursue the truth. To ask the questions that need asking and exploring different perspectives until we find the solution we seek — “think again” could be his motto. He also reminds us that we can have too much of a good thing — brilliant ideas don’t count for much if you don’t follow through with action. He asks us: where are you charging ahead with your thoughts? Could you be getting carried away, or is it time to move on?
Knight of Pentacles
Keywords: Dedicated, focused, dependable, reliable
If you need a job done well, the Knight of Pentacles is the Court member to ask. He’s organized, dedicated, and focused. He’ll make and execute the plan, and nothing will get in his way. It could be argued he’s the less exciting of the four Knights, but that also makes him the most reliable — and the one with the healthiest bank balance! Pursuing practicality and abundance means he’s not afraid of doing the work. He keeps his attention on HOW to do something, not why he’s doing it. He teaches us to keep moving forward with plans and not let future trips get in the way. When we channel the energy of the Knight of Pentacles, we realize our dreams in solid and tangible ways. We make the phone calls and have the meetings. We manifest the funding we need and practice the speech until we get it right. We take full responsibility for our future happiness.
