The Twos

TWO OF WANDS

Possible keywords: Preparation. Expansion. Vision.

You’ve got your brilliant idea, so now it’s time to make a plan. The Two of Wands is surveying the land, taking stock, and readying yourself for your next step. It’s contemplating what needs to be done to bring the spark of inspiration found in the Ace to the next level. A visionary card: now’s the time to be bold and brave, to believe in yourself, and to take action. Dream bigger, push your boundaries, and channel your determination. If you’re prepared to do the work, the world is yours for the taking.

TWO OF CUPS

Possible keywords: Love. Equality. Two hearts as one.

“Recognise that the other person is you.” I have this Buddhist proverb written in my LWB to remind me that the Two of Cups is not just about love. Usually one of the prettiest cards in the deck, the Two of Cups, signifies a meeting of souls, understanding, and equality. It’s creating a partnership, a union that brings harmony and mutual support to both parties. This connection deepens friendship. It’s love in all its forms. Where The Lovers card often signifies life lessons served alongside a soul connection (not always fun!), the Two of Cups brings sweetness and healing.

TWO OF SWORDS

Possible keywords: Deliberation. Choice. Finding trust.

The Two of Swords signifies a choice to be made. There are two paths to choose from and two possible outcomes. We can follow our emotions or rally our intellect to make an informed decision. If these two are at odds, it’s time to get quiet and tune in to your intuition. We can resist change or take a step forward, trusting that we have the resources and wherewithal to choose the right path.

TWO OF PENTACLES

Possible keywords: Balance. Flexibility. Patience.

On the surface, it looks like the Two of Pentacles is about finding balance — which it is — but it also goes deeper than that. It’s an invitation to find your flow to stay flexible in a situation that’s causing you stress. This card suggests finding the grace to accept what’s happening and navigate it to honor everyone’s needs. We juggle our daily responsibilities, and usually, it works out well, but when you’re pulled in too many directions, the Two of Pentacles reminds you to stay limber, trusting the ebb will flow again.
