As the name of this card contradicts what it’s actually about it’s often feared, but it needn’t be. The Hanged Man is an invitation to look again. Let go of your need to control everything and view the situation from a new perspective. We can get so caught up in what we WANT to happen we overlook what we need. Sometimes everything we desire is right before us if only we’d open our eyes and see it. Suspend all action and take a moment to reassess. In some decks, the Hanged Man is viewed as a sacrifice, and while I don’t see him that way, there is definitely an element of surrender here. When you feel stuck, do something else. Lie on your bed, hang your head over the edge, and look at the world upside down! Reframe what’s happening and refresh your thinking before moving forward. Interrupt the pattern…. Now look again.
